Overview

Visual Automations is Kit's flagship feature — a visual workflow editor that lets creators build automated email sequences triggered by subscriber actions. Think: someone buys a product → they get a welcome sequence → tagged as a customer → removed from the prospect list. All visualized as a flowchart.

This was one of the most complex design challenges at Kit. The interface needed to feel intuitive for a solo blogger setting up their first automation, while being powerful enough for a creator running a multi-product business with dozens of interlocking workflows.

Dylan led the product design for Visual Automations over multiple years, evolving it from an early concept into the feature that Kit became known for. The node-based visual editor, the trigger system, the action library — all designed to make powerful automation feel accessible.
